A couple of years ago, a few of us at LiveIntent set out to create a group for employees to learn and converse with each other in ways they hadn’t before. We decided the best way to facilitate this was to create an Employee Resource Group (ERG) focused on belonging, inclusion, and diversity, which resulted in the group’s name, BID. For about two years, Belonging, Inclusion and Diversity with Intent, or BID, facilitated conversations on Pride, the gender pay gap, and more.
We knew there was more to be done with the platform and wanted to give more members of the organization the chance to get involved. After polling the company and learning about the areas they wanted to focus on, we came up with five new ERGs to. These groups sit under our core BID philosophy and mission: to instill diversity, a sense of belonging, and empowerment into LiveIntent’s culture, core values, and vision.
Below is a list of our new ERGs and their missions.
Women With Intent fosters a culture of diversity, inclusivity, and empowerment by creating opportunities for women to grow individually and thrive collectively. We strive to advance our allies through education and awareness to promote intersectionality both within our employee resource group and LiveIntent.
Parents of LiveIntent fosters a culture of diversity, inclusivity, and empowerment by supporting parents to grow individually and thrive collectively while bringing awareness to the everyday challenges parents face.
BlackIntent provides, inclusive environment for Black employees and allies to come together and share real experiences, discuss current events affecting the Black community, celebrate Black culture, and empower one another to be our best selves as both members of the Black community and as allies.
PrideIntent promotes an inclusive global community for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer employees, customers, and allies. We strive to affirm LGBTQ+ identity, build a community, and cultivate equity at LiveIntent and beyond.”
LiveIntent Neurodiversity aims to eliminate the stigma surrounding neurodiversity and mental health by enacting the mantra, “there is no such thing as normal.” We aim to advocate for neurodiverse individuals, raise awareness, and provide education for families, colleagues, caregivers, and communities impacted by neurodiversity. We pledge to remove obstacles and create opportunities within LiveIntent to ensure an inclusive neurodiverse culture.
These groups hold monthly meetings and give employees a chance to come as they are, with a wealth of knowledge or willingness to learn. The conversations we have are incredibly eye-opening and connect us all in ways we haven’t connected before.
Looking back, we can see how far we’ve come as a company and are grateful we had the foundations with BID to get us where we are now. If you’re interested in hearing more about our ERG and the work they’ve accomplished, head over to our employee resource group webpage.
