So how can you know this info is even credible to begin with? And here’s the results I’ve brought over the past 1 year to the OTA client:

I managed to spend reduce AdWords CPA spending per transaction by 84.3% (sorry typo error on the title) from MYR11.53 (USD2.81) which was over 195% more than the actual profit margin (hence not making profit) to MYR 1.81 (USD0.44) which was only 46% than the actual profit margin (hence 54% profit, wow!)
But hey, that’s not good enough, my target is hopefully to reach as low as 30% of the actual profit margin hence 70% is clean profit and we can use that to make other type of retention-based promotions like discounts, cashbacks etc.
Okay so how did I do it?
Simple.
First of all, an important disclaimer: This technique requires you to have:
- To setup Google Analytics properly on your site
- To enable Enhanced Ecommerce reporting to track conversion data on your Google Analytics
- To setup your GTM to link your Google Analytics data back to AdWords or importing GA data manually from AdWords
- At least a solid 3 months worth of conversion data in your AdWords account, hence this won’t work if you’re just starting your AdWords spending
