Email marketing is tough. Although we all strive for #NoFailMail, sometimes mistakes happen. At Litmus, we’ve been there before and we’ve talked to a lot of people who have also failed. Hard. From broken links to broken templates, embarrassing subject lines to getting stuck in the spam filter—there’s a lot that can go wrong. That’s why testing every email campaign is so important.

But even the most thorough QA process can sometimes let mistakes through, which is why having a backup plan is so important—something we wrote about in our Email Marketing Mistakes Report.

We’ve asked about your biggest email mistakes before, and because we’ve learned so much from your stories, we’re revisiting the topic for our latest Community Contest. We want to hear about your biggest email fails and how you’re preventing them from happening again.

Whether it’s sending to the wrong list, shipping an email that breaks in Outlook, or forgetting to swap out that darned placeholder text, we want to hear about it.

Here’s what to do

Head over to the Community Contest Discussion page and answer the questions there by commenting with your biggest email fail story. Tell us about your biggest mistake and how you’re preventing them in the future, and you’ll be entered in the #NoFailMail Community Contest.
